‘Floppy Computer’ is the new set of future-projected grooves from Periodica Records and label partner Raffaele “Whodamanny” Arcella that recovers and restores forgotten tape compositions by a legendary Italian pop producer using the pseudonym of Nico Mecca. Produced during the years 1979-1985 using state of the art home recording techniques and the latest synthesizer. The productions through works are incredibly forward-looking for that time with inspirations and song titles referencing hypermodern technology and a proto-cyberpunk and progressive rock sound world and experimental electronic music that features new combinations of Mediterranean boogie, robotic funk, sci- fi balearics, hypnagogic pop and astrotribal jazz. The discovery of the ‘Floppy Computer’ project is dictated by fate and strong cosmic interference as not only were these tracks produced by Mecca during his 30 years, but they were discovered 30 years later by Raffaele Whodamanny, also in his thirties, facts that give the project a mystical and numerological meaning, since this number and this age represent a divine intermediate point between youthful enthusiasm and the wisdom of experience.
